week 9

firstly starts with different types of standards for common networks, explaining the layers and the developments from predecessors, gaves info on the MAC, MA and the CMSA, etc . . the cables types for LAN, frame lenghts and tokens (including frames & structures) for each, and finally the TCP/IP and the layers to this protocol. Now when i first heard of ATM, it was in work on the PPPoATM (point to point protocol over asynchronous transfer mode), similarly the info was on about the speed and usages for this. but then there was info on the cells of this, as well as B-ISDN model, then explained each layer to it. Multiplexing techniques, explains all three then moves on to ATM switches giving use info on the speeds that they work in as well as the objectives of this. Practical was on about tracking the speed of the connection and packets in are computers, (do this every day in work with a swish tool)
